MARUSAK RECEIVES EXCELLENCE IN MANAGEMENT
AWARD
Thomas Marusak, president of Comfortex Corp., Maplewood, NY, has been
honored with the Siena Business Institute Award for Excellence in
Management.
Marusak has led Comfortex since 1986 from a small start-up business
to its present stature as a large manufacturer and a major employer
and contributor to the quality of life in the Capital Region of New
York. His award was presented on the basis of his leadership style,
which is based on open communication as well as familiarity with individuals
at each level of the company fostering innovation, creativity and
recognition.
Marusak was one of three award recipients honored in March at the
Siena Business Institute at Siena College, Loudonville, NY.
DRAPER NAMES NEW WINDOW COVERINGS MANAGER
Draper, Inc., Spiceland, IN, has named Jeff Miller as its new Window
Coverings Manager. Miller has been with Draper since 1999, most recently
serving as Regional Sales Manager for New England and eastern Canada.
“I’m excited by this new challenge,” says Miller. “We're
expanding Draper’s window shade line to include new fabrics and
several new motorized products and controls, and this is an exciting
opportunity.”
Miller replaces Jere Gianola, who becomes National Sales Manager for
Electronic Solutions of Colorado.
COMFORTEX PROMOTES VAN DERVOORT TO JUNIOR
ENGINEER
Comfortex Corp., Maplewood, NY, has promoted Jason Van Dervoort to
the position of Junior Engineer.
Van Dervoort joined the company in 1994, initially as part of the
shade assembly team. He later assisted the Comfortex engineering department
with new product testing. Most recently he served as a design technician.
During his tenure at Comfortex, Van Dervoort has been a member of
several design and engineering teams that have received Product Innovation
Awards from the Window Covering Manufacturers Asssociation (WCMA).
